13φανερὰν καθιστᾶσι τὴν πρὸς τὸν
14δῆμον εὔνοιαν καὶ φιλανθρωπίαν,
15καθήκει δὲ τῶι δήμωι μηθενὸς λείv–
16πεσθαι τῶν εἰς τιμὴν καὶ χάριν ἀνη–
17κόντων πρὸς τοὺς εὐεργετεῖν τὸν

1Beschluss der Stadt Gonnoi: dass man
2einen Theorodoken erwähle gemäß dem Beschluss,
3den eingebracht haben die Festgesandten der Athener
4Sosigenes und Archeptolemos,
5und aufzeichne diesen Beschluss auf eine steinerne
6Stele und aufstelle in das Heiligtum
7der Athene. Als Theorodokos wurde Ni-
8kaios S.d. Aristokrates freiwillig be-
9stimmt. Gültig. –

10aus dem Demos Potamos stellte den Antrag: Da einige
11die von der Stadt ausgesandten
12Trankopferbringer als Theorodokoi aufgenommen
13und so öffentlich gemacht haben ihr
14Wohlwollen gegenüber dem Volk und ihre Freundlichkeit,
15und da es dem Volk ziemt, nichts zu unterlassen
16von dem, was Ehrung und Dank
17betrifft, gegenüber jenen, die dem Volk Wohltaten zu
18leisten gesinnt sind, zu Glück und Heil!,
19wolle beschließen der Rat: dass die Vor-
20sitzenden, die erlost sind, vorzusitzen
21für die kommende Volksversammlung,
22hierüber verhandeln lassen und die Beschluss-
23vorlage des Rates in die Volksversammlung
24einbringen, wonach der Rat es für gut befindet:
25alle momentanen Theorodokoi
26in den Städten, die
27gebilligt haben die Trankopfer
28für die Eleusinien und Panathe-
29näen und Mysterien, dass diese
30jetzt sein sollen proxenoi
31des Volkes der Athener; dass
32sie bei weiterem Ehrgeiz
33gegenüber der Stadt noch andere Auszeichnung
34finden werden bei dem Volk, deren
35sie für würdig erachtet werden; dass die
36Trankopferbringer, die die
37Eleusinien und die Panathenäen
38und die Mysterien verkünden, über-
39mitteln zum Metroon in ihren
40Berichten auch die Namen der Theoro-
41dokoi mit Patronym, wenn sie
42die Städte, die die Trankopfer.
43gebilligt haben, mitteilen. – Damit,
44wenn dies geschieht, die ehrgeizig
45für der Stadt Gesinnten öffentlich
46gemacht werden und das Volk

1The city of Gonnoi decided:
2to choose a Receiver of official visitors in accordance with the decree
3which the official visitors of the Athenians have brought,
4Sosigenes and Archeptolemos,
5and to inscribe the decree on a stone
6stele and place it in the sanctuary
7of Athena. Nikaios son of Aristokrates volunteered
8to be appointed Receiver of official visitors.

11Receivers of official visitors, in receiving
12the bearers of the truce sent out by the city,
13have made manifest their good will
14and humanity towards the People,
15and it befits the People not to fall short
16as regards honour and thanks
17towards those who choose to benefit
18the People, for good fortune,
19the Council shall decide, that the presiding committee
20allotted to preside
21at the forthcoming Assembly
22shall place these matters on the agenda,
23and submit the opinion of the Council
24to the People, that it seems good to the Council
25that as many as happen to be Receivers of
26official visitors in the cities which
27accept the truce,
28for the Eleusinia and the Panathenaia
29and the Mysteries, that they should
30now be proxenoi
31of the Athenian People; and be permitted,
32on showing love of honour
33to the city, to obtain
34other benefits from the People, whatever
35they may be deemed to be worthy of; and the
36bearers of the truce, when they have announced
37the Eleusinia and the
38Panathenaia and the Mysteries, shall supply
39to the Metroon in their report
40the names of the Receivers
41of official visitors, and their father's names, when they
42make their return of the cities
43who have accepted the truce. So that,
44these things coming to pass, those who are disposed
45to be honour-loving towards the city
46shall be apparent, and the People may be seen to be
